Debden’s history

Debden is a village in the Rural Municipality of Canwood No. 494, on Highway 55 in north-central Saskatchewan. It incorporated as a village on June 7, 1922.

Today it sits about 94 kilometres from Prince Albert and 194 kilometres from Saskatoon, at the edge of Prince Albert National Park. With all the lakes nearby, the area becomes a popular spot in the summer months. Debden is also the administrative headquarters of the Big River First Nation band government.
